Abstract
Composition commissioned by QME (Quiet Music Ensemble) based in Cork, Ireland. Written for prepared electric guitar, prepared cello, prepared double bass, trombone, clarinet. First performance at New Music Dublin festival, 02/04/2025
This piece continues my research into contingency using prepared string instruments played with the bow: guitar here uses an EBow (electronic bow). Here the players are instructed to inhabit the world of their own instrument's indeterminacy, while listening out for possible connections across the multiple worlds of the five instruments.
