Abstract
In this chapter I consider writing and publishing, and differing hierarchies of published text, as imagined and reimagined over the course of a doctoral research project. In particular, I explore how the status of ‘being published’ is imagined. I describe the broader context around the piece of published writing I reflect on (Bradley, 2015a) and follow with excerpts from my research blog from 2015 (Bradley, 2015b; 2015c), to illustrate how different forms and genres of writing lead to a reflexive and fluid appreciation of the complexity of academic writerly identities.
