Abstract
Four non-hydrostatic atmospheric models were compared for a case study of southerly airflow over the Isle of Arran in Scotland. The model results are contrasted with each other and aircraft wind observations. All resolve qualitatively similar the background gravity wave flow, despite different formulations.
