Abstract
Vocabulary in specific contexts refers to the specialized lexis used for particular purposes. Beyond knowledge of general words, mastery of specialized vocabulary is essential for effective and precise communication in professional and academic contexts. However, acquiring this knowledge poses a heavy burden on learners and teachers. Research in the area aims to identify the key vocabulary needed for successful engagement in specific contexts and disciplines, and to develop tools like specialized word lists or vocabulary tests to aid in the teaching of this specific lexis.
