Abstract
In this chapter I critically discuss the atmospheric equality interpretation of climate justice and outline the contours of an alternative. My position, in brief, is that the atmospheric equality framing is correct in suggesting that a theory of natural resource rights can be informative about the climate change problem. It is also correct to hold that this theory should be egalitarian in nature. However, we should reject the principle that equal claims to natural resources ought to be respected by equally dividing those resources. Equal claims should instead be respected by establishing a system of resource rights that promotes equality in social relationships.
