Abstract
Supply chains are essential for meeting customer demand efficiently. Yet, their complexity, spanning economic, environmental, and social domains, poses challenges. Addressing these challenges is crucial to prevent inventory issues and delays, especially in light of recent disruptive events. This study focuses on the supply chain operational issues in the high value manufacturing sector, and potential solutions in overcoming these operational challenges. Through comprehensive discussions with companies, we identified and categorised prevalent supply chain issues, then selected methodologies to overcome these issues. The ultimate goal of our research is to develop a guidance to aid companies in designing robust supply chains.
