Alba Rueda is the Special Representative on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, she was the first Undersecretary of Diversity Policies of the Argentine Republic (2019-2022) and president of Argentine Trans Women. With one foot in social movements and the State, Alba Rueda participated in the drafting of pioneering legislation such as the Gender Identity Law, the Trans Labor Quota Law and the recognition of documents with non-binary identities. In 2021, the BBC chose her as one of the 100 Women of 2021 and in 2022 she was selected in the TIME100 Next list. This interview took place during the Ibero-American and European Researchers Night in 2021. It was possible thanks to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Project “Was sex inflexible?”

Alba Rueda es la Representante Especial sobre Orientación Sexual e Identidad de Género, fue la primera Subsecretaría de Políticas de Diversidad de la República Argentina (2019-2022) y presidenta de Mujeres Trans Argentinas. Con un pie en los movimientos sociales y el Estado, Alba Rueda participó en la confección de una legislación pionera como es la Ley de Identidad Género, la Ley de Cupo Laboral Trans y el reconocimiento a documentos con identidades no-binarias. En 2021, la BBC la eligió como una de las 100 mujeres del 2021 y en 2022 fue seleccionada en la lista TIME100 Next.
