Paterson, C and Domingo, D, eds. (2008) Making Online News: The Ethnography of New Media Production. Peter Lang Publishing Inc , New York ISBN 978-1-4331-0214-1
Abstract
This book investigates the production of online news by analyzing the daily work of online journalists, how it differs from traditional media production, and the consequences it has for the character and quality of online news. It advocates revitalizing the ethnographic methodologies of sociologists who entered newsrooms in the 1970s and 1980s, while at the same time exploring new theoretical frameworks to better understand the evolution of online journalism and how newsrooms deal with innovation and change.
