Morris, A.S. and Gray, L.S. (1982) Efficient Fortran Programming Pracice. Research Report. ACSE Report 182 . Department of Control Engineering, University of Sheffield, Mappin Street, Sheffield
Abstract
This paper consists of printed notes given as the second lecture of a two-part special lecture course on efficient programming. Emphasis is placed on structured programming and the implementation of this disciplined approach to programming using Fortran 77.. The first part of this "efficient programming" course covered the functioning of the operating system and explained how such factors as program size and input/output timing affect overall system efficiency and speed.
