Abstract
The UK games industry is powered by a diverse and talented workforce, shaping one of the country’s most creative and innovative sectors. The UK Games Industry Census provides a vital snapshot of the people behind the games – offering insights into their backgrounds, experiences, and the industry’s overall makeup.
Conducted in 2022, the latest Census reveals both the strengths and the challenges facing the sector. It highlights increased diversity, with more women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ professionals working in games than ever before. However, it also underscores areas where more progress is needed, particularly around ethnic diversity, accessibility, and mental health support.
