Abstract
The number of return rates in the fashion industry has been reported considerably high. Mobile 3D body scanning technology has been embedded to help customers choose the appropriate garment size and provide a virtual avatar. Mobile 3D body scanning software developers claim that their technology is also accurate, dependable, and exact; however, not all can disclose precise details regarding the methods of applications. As a result, this research aims to investigate 3D mobile body scanning applications by identifying their characteristics, methods, and advantages. A total of ten mobile applications are chosen developed in various countries from Google Play and IOS app stores. The number of measurements produced varies, and body measurements' terminologies were not correspondent, but some apps provide the size recommendation. The expert evaluated the accuracy of measurements are not precise but showed the potentiality to apply this technology in business. The further study will use more participants to build more reliability of experiments.
