Abstract
This essay introduces the special issue entitled Reporting Global while being local: Local sources of news for distant audiences. It discusses the rationale behind this special issue’s focus on local newsworkers who contribute their labour to international news-reporting and reviews research conducted on the work and working conditions of these newsworkers to date. The article then goes on to describe the articles that appear in the special issue.
