Abstract
In this talk, Julia Davies draws upon a project looking at the role of Facebook in the lives of a group of fashion-conscious trainee hairdressers living in a city in the north of England. As ethnographic research, Dr. Davies shared in the young women’s Facebook spaces and took part in their conversations. Facebook was the lens through which she viewed their lives and through which she traced interactions and events.
