Littlehales, EG and Ford, AC (2015) Lubiprostone Is Effective in Treating Functional Bowel Disease With Constipation. Elsevier.
Abstract
We read the 2 studies by Fukudo et al1 reported in a single article with interest. Although lubiprostone has been shown to be effective in both irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC),2–6 more data to confirm the efficacy of the drug in other populations are welcome. However, there are some aspects of their study that warrant further discussion.
