Stern, R.A. (2014) On Bernard Bosanquet’s “The Reality of the General Will”. Ethics, 125 (1). 192 - 195. ISSN 0014-1704
Abstract
This short paper attempts to motivate the issues underlying Bernard Bosanquet’s paper ‘The Reality of the General Will’, and to bring out his approach to dealing with them, particularly as this contrasts to Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s attempt to deal with the paradox of democracy as Bosanquet conceives of it.
