Hyanes, B.R. and Billings, S.A. (1990) The Qualitative Analysis of Nonlinear Parameterised Systems Part II A Method for the Global Analysis of Nonlinear Systems. Research Report. Acse Report 400 . Dept of Automatic Control and System Engineering. University of Sheffield
Abstract
In Part I of this paper the representation of nonlinear systems and results from dynamical systems were introduced. In this, the second part, a method for the global analysis of nonlinear system is presented. Several examples are used to illustrate the type of results that can be achieved using the new approach. It is shown that all typical bifurcation phenomena can be detected. A nonlinear feedback system is also analysed in order to show how the new approach provides both qualitative information and a global perspective over a defined region of the systems parameter space. The method proves to be a powerful tool when used to probe the nonlinear characteristic of a system.
