Abstract
This paper presents the experiences and perspective of the educator when working with students on reflective practice and skills development. It reviews the use of a reflective electronic reflective journal (or diary) used by MA Librarianship students at the University of Sheffield. The reflective journal is developed within the University’s virtual learning environment (VLE), which is known within the University as MOLE – My Online Learning Environment. The benefits of reflective writing for the student are discussed showing how the reflective process within MOLE enables students to identify their key skills and development needs
