Edwards, J.B. and Pacey, K (1980) An Otpimal Control Approach to Energy Minimisation in Electric Vehicles. Research Report. ACSE Research Report 109 . Department of Control Engineering, University of Sheffield
Abstract
Methods for optimizing the control of electrical vehicles on undulating gradient profiles are reviewed and a boundary value iteration method successfully applied to a series motor driven vehicle. Optimal control strategies are shown to be highly dependent on the type of drive employed.
