Abstract
Examines the proliferation of "counter-terrorism-style" powers into other areas of law, discussing legislative developments which introduce new offences concerning border and immigration control and executive powers modelled on anti-terrorism laws and proposals for similar powers targeting protest groups and extreme violence. Raises concerns that exceptional powers are increasingly normalised and applied beyond terrorism, raising concerns about their impact on justice values, human rights and fundamental legal principles.
