Credit Unions: Where you can save money and build community

This zine was made by us, a small group of people who have some experience of credit unions: either through working in or with a credit union, as a member and/or as a researcher; and with support from artist Jean McEwan and illustrator Emma Kelly. Together in June 2025, we took part in a zinemaking workshop to make the zine. Zines are democratic. Anyone can make one using simple materials and you decide what you want to say and how. Our zine explores the role of credit unions in relation to health and wellbeing, communities and living conditions. We particularly focused on the role of BDCU - a credit union for people who live or work in Bradford District or the Craven and Kirklees areas.
