Autonomobility

Autonomobility is an alternative imaginary centred on ideals of autonomy, radical sustainability, mobility justice and satisfying capabilities. These all link together in thinking through how movement can and should be organised in society. At the same time, autonomobility is a positive critique of automobility as a modern principle organising society, space, movement, politics, economy, as well as ideas of freedom and the good life. Autonomobility requires a major societal transition from individualistic competition to collectivization, coordination and trust. Localisation, freedom, life satisfaction and fairness are its cornerstones: both its principles and its benefits. It represents our best chance of avoiding climate chaos through the fair and rational reorganisation of movement, of people and things.
