(2026), Precambrian Research 434, 107992. Precambrian Research, 436. 108041. ISSN: 0301-9268
Abstract
In reporting the new Ediacaran Dongpo Biota, Wang et al. (2026) describe forms tentatively interpreted as long, narrow frondose fossils. We herein highlight the similarities of those fronds to a type of tool mark termed uninterrupted chevron marks, and propose that purported fronds of the Dongpo Biota might be better interpreted as sedimentary structures.
