Abstract
This memorial article reflects on the life, mentorship, and enduring influence of the late Professor Emeritus Márta Dezső, a distinguished Hungarian constitutional scholar and educator. Through a personal and professional narrative, the author traces the formative impact of Dezső's guidance on her academic development, international experiences, and legal career. The article intertwines individual recollections—ranging from early research supervision and Erasmus studies in Spain to later postgraduate and professional milestones—with broader reflections on legal education in post-transition Hungary and comparative legal scholarship across European and Anglo-American systems. Central themes include the transformative power of mentorship, the role of trust as a catalyst for achievement, and the importance of intellectual generosity in academia. The title encapsulates the article’s core message: that a scholar's most lasting legacy lies in the knowledge, support, and opportunities they give to others.
