Fifth WIPS Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights, 04-05 May 2020, Szeged, Hungary. Medien und Recht International (MR-Int) , pp. 129-133.
Abstract
The article explores the implications that 3D printing technology can have on Intellectual Property law - a focus is on the unauthorised copying and online dissemination of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) files, often containing IP protectable subject-matter, and the subsequent risk of them becoming actually 3D printed and taking physical form as exact copies of the CAD contained digital design - a proposal for the minimisation of these issues offers an alternative form of technology, known as digital watermarking.
