Funding Information: This research sets out an approach to obtaining validated income and benefits data, as a proxy measure for financial security, within the particular context of the BiBBS cohort study. It achieves good consent rates and demonstrates greater input from those who report greater potential need for financial support. Further research should be conducted to further understand the interplay of language spoken in this context. Acknowledgements Publisher Copyright: © The Author(s) 2024.
