Abstract
The front cover artwork is provided by the group of Dr. Neil J. Stewart, Prof. Hiroshi Hirata, and Dr. Shingo Matsumoto (Hokkaido University, Japan) as well as Dr. Takuya Hashimoto (Chiba University, Japan). The image shows hyperpolarized 13C fumarate metabolism to hyperpolarized 13C malate, which is released into the extracellular space in regions of necrotic cell death, where the cell membrane is disrupted.
