Abstract
Discusses the role of "dignity" in the Indian Supreme Court ruling in Johar v India, which held the criminalisation of non-heterosexual sex between adults under the Indian Penal Code s.377 was unconstitutional. Reviews the court's approach to dignity as a change in thought processes, the individual person's characteristics, the background force of an individual, and self-worth. Details the entitlements held to emanate from dignity.
