Abstract
How can we examine the features of different architectural designs through the lens of opinions posted online regarding building designs? This paper addresses this question by analyzing several thousand comments about architectural designs and developing a method for evaluating architectural features based on the semantic analysis of web text. Using the case-study method, this study analyzed comments from an online Chinese architectural forum for professionals called the Architecture Bulletin Board System and public comments regarding different design proposals for the Zhangjiakou Olympic Stadium, using them as an example to reveal the features of architectural designs and highlight differences among the designs.
