Abstract
While policy is moving towards recognition of the complex nature of the vulnerable consumer in credit provision, vulnerability is still in essence viewed as a condition affecting specific groups in society. Using the vulnerability paradigm developed by Martha Albertson Fineman, this article re-examines the concept of the vulnerable credit consumer, advocating a refined theoretical basis to consumer borrower protection.
