Abstract
This paper reports the very first steps in a research and development process in the United Kingdom that aims to improve the conversion of assistive technology (AT) ideas and solutions developed for individuals in to products available in the market place. As such the paper is part of the authors open approach to developing the tools that will achieve this. A user involvement approach is used that utilizes presentation of the findings of a preliminary analysis by the authors.
