Abstract
This paper proposes a simple, but adaptable and potentially very effective design for regionalised heating and cooling of an SMA actuator plate so that the cooling phase time can be minimised and the duty-cycle work-rate maximised. The generic plate could be applied to structural vibration control or to actuation of aspects of a larger machine or structure.
