PW is the co-principal investigator for two randomised thrombectomy trials (PISTE and STABILISE) in acute stroke. STABILISE is part-funded by Microvention grant to Newcastle University. PW has undertaken consultancy work for Stryker, Codman and Microvention who manufacture stroke thrombectomy devices.
