United Nations and HIV/AIDS: the comic book experiment

Abstract

Evaluates the effectiveness of UN comic book projects from 2002 to 2010 in improving public health and addressing issues associated with HIV/AIDS. Reviews the international framework on the right to health, the justifications for the comic book approach, four relevant publications, and the extent to which they explained core obligations such as the duty of the health system. Analyses the shortcomings of the books, and how they might be improved.
