Jonathan Bradshaw has been a leading social policy scholar for over 40 years. He has made seminal contributions to the comparative study of child well-being, poverty and the adequacy of benefits, as well as writing on a range of important social policy issues. He founded the Social Policy Research Unit at the University of York, contributed to numerous landmark studies of poverty and minimum income standards in Britain for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, and issued a wake-up call to policy makers worldwide by producing the first international 'league table' of child well-being.
