Abstract
In this paper, we develop the meshless method of fundamental solutions (MFS) for solving the two-dimensional time-dependent heat equation, to locate an internal moving bound- ary. The inverse problem presented here is ill-posed and nonlinear and therefore, a least-squares minimisation routine is employed to reconstruct the inclusion, using known Dirichlet and Neu- mann boundary data on the outer fixed boundary.
