Abstract
This article is based on a paper given by Robert Williams and Steve Robertson at the CPHVA annual conference in October 1998. It aims to add to the present debate around parenting generated by the government's concern with family-centred policies, and identify where the concept of fatherhood fits with these policies and related initiatives.
