An online questionnaire was carried out to collect information in a number of areas:

The questionnaire was advertised across the three institutions using a variety of email lists and website announcements. It was available from 12th February to 26th March 2008. A total of 330 people responded from the three universities; 5 responses were discounted.

Drivers for increased deposit

Top three services that might encourage people to use WRRO:

  1. Statistics about publications (62%)
  2. Links to papers from personal websites (57%)
  3. RSS feeds (43%)

What and When do people want to deposit

Over a third of respondents felt the best time to deposit would be as soon as a paper was published.

Journal articles were the most popular material to deposit in WRRO. Other suggestions included patents, theses, conference papers and working papers.
