University of York staff: Depositing your publications through 'PURE'

White Rose Research Online works in conjunction with PURE to make your publications freely available where (i) you have uploaded the text of the work and (ii) copyright permits.

Upload process

Log in to PURE using your York Username and Password - http://pure.york.ac.uk/
Import the details of your publication, or create manually using the Add new button.
In the Documents and links section of the edit screen, click on the Add document button.
Browse to the file you wish to upload e.g. on your local drive or on a memory stick, click Open.
If you wish your file to be transferred to the White Rose Research Online repository, please choose Publicly Accessible from the Visibility drop-down list.
Apply the relevant embargo date, if known. Please indicate what version of your work your are uploading by choosing an option from the Document version drop down list.
Click Create.
Accept the deposit licence.

Library staff will Validate your record and check the copyright status of the deposited file. If your paper complies with the publisher policy outlined on the Sherpa/RoMEO database of publisher copyright agreements, it will be made available. If the publisher policy is not known, the Library will seek deposit permission in most cases (in consultation with the depositing author).

Please note, many publishers allow us to disseminate journal articles but it is usually the final peer reviewed copy of the work (also known as the "Accepted Version") which can be made freely available rather than the final published PDF with publisher formatting. If in doubt, check the Sherpa/RoMEO database, any licence you signed with your publisher, seek permission directly from your publisher or seek advice from Library staff eprints@whiterose.ac.uk . For other publication types, what we can disseminate depends on any licence you signed with your publisher and/or their response to our deposit request.

Import of records previously deposited in WRRO

Papers deposited into WRRO prior to the PURE-WRRO connection have been imported into PURE. If you spot any errors or omissions please email eprints@whiterose.ac.uk.
