Treatment challenges: getting psychodermatology into the clinic

All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin (APPGS) reports, a variety of surveys and recent NICE guidelines have all highlighted the need for dermatology services to better address the psychosocial impact of skin conditions. This is not surprising given the scale of the issues, with up to a quarter of people living with a skin condition being at risk of experiencing distress. However, considerable challenges remain in introducing psychological care into routine practice. This article provides suggestions for addressing the challenge of getting psychodermatology into the clinic.
